The Catholic church was build in several periods, still you can see the relics from the old Franc Catholic monastery. During Otoman occupation it was converted to a mosque but then it was given back to Catholic church during the reign of King Otto. Church is in the old town of Nafplio. The place is ideal of a romantic Catholic destination wedding. Services are available by appoitment with the priest.
When the visitors are strolling in the romantic alleys of the old town, they can admire the old mansions, the beautifful Neoclassic buildings scattered around, the small byzantine churches, the first Greek parliament, museums, cultural centers and art galleries.
I beleive that Naflpio is still undiscovered for a destination wedding in Greece but a promissing destiantion for the near future. It is good as can easily reached from Eleftherios Venizelos airport - the roads are excellent and it is away ony 85 miles or 145 Km . Total travel time 1 hour and 45 minutes
