Easter wedding in the Greek islands

Hello my Brides,

The Greek Easter is around the corner. I am making all preparation in my house as family and a lot of friends have to for the last few years gathering in my home for the Easter. I have already dyed my eggs red as per the Greek custom and I just wanted to share with you, this beautiful time for me. I really enjoy Easter and all preparations. The ideal is to have Easter in one of the islands such as Santorini, Mykonos, Lesvos and may be Chios.
In each place the Easter is with common customs but unique as the same time as each place has its own customs which are kept until nowαdays.
The ideal time for a destination wedding in the Greek islands is the time after the Easter, especiay for  next year as our Easter is May 1st 2016. Imagine Santorini dressed in her Easter colors, red, yellow, orange, lilac, green, white,  blue and your wedding at the same time. The weather is mild, not too hot and the wind is low and think of your wedding ceremony either in a white washed chapel yard  or a wedding venue overlooking the caldera. The dream is there come and get it.

Santorini is a place where a civil wedding or an Orthodox wedding can take place. The island is scattered with beautiful churches with amazing views. It is said that there are around 600 churches and chapels, but not in all of them we can have a wedding. With our help we make sure we find the right church or chapel for you to hold your Greek Orthodox wedding.

We have made a selection of various chapels where you could have your Santorini Greek Orthodox wedding.

1.     Santorini Cathedral – ideal for big Orthodox weddings 

The church is located in Fira, the center of the island, and has a breathtaking views to the caldera. If you choose to have your Santorini wedding there, you can ask your photographer to have some photos just outside the church. If the wedding is at sunset – it is even better as you will be able to capture one of the most amazing sunset in the world and have as backdrop the sun dying into the sea.

2. Agios Markos: a small Greek Orthodox chapel located on top of a hill and with amazing views to the caldera and the west side of the island. It is just the most stunning place to have your wedding. 3. Anastasis in Imerovigli: Small church ideal for medium size weddings. No words can describe the beauty of the location.

4.Oia Panagia Platsani : A beautiful Greek Orthodox church - located in Oia on the main road, the most romantic place of the island. Amazing views and beautiful interior. 

5. For civil weddings the most popular chapel is SANTA IRENE (AGIA IRINI). The chapel is private and located outside Fira and it is ideal for weddings for up to 30-40 persons. It is the combination of a wild beauty and romance.

Romantic Monemvasia Wedding

Good Afternoon from Sunny Greece!!!!

I am trilled to share with you the lovely pictures of a Greek American couple, that they decided to have their traditional Greek Orthodox wedding in Monemvasia, a place their families originated. Mia and Nick live in New York and they traveled with their immediate family and friends to celebrate this wonderful moment of their life  on the magical castle of Monemvasia. The church of Elkomenos was  the perfect place for their Orthodox wedding. After the wedding  they took photos into the castle, having as a backdrop the  wild beauty of the medieval castle. 

The bride looked stunning into her mermaid dress from Provonias as well as the groom into his nice suit. The hair and make up was done by local suppliers in the area with an outstanding results. Of course the bride was gorgeous. The wedding reception took place under the Monemvasia rock, which during the night with the various, blue, red, orange colors, was turning into natural monument. For the photographer Gina Tzina Katzagiannaki was the perfect place to start her photography carrier.
For us this Greek wedding was a wonderful experience and we were thrilled planning, organizing and design this event.
